Well, finally I have managed to sort out my site and here it is…ta-dah! I’ve been so frustrated having not blogged for over a week and sorry guys for not being able to visit your blogs lately. But now I’m back, oh how I’ve missed it.
The kids have been on half-term so my house had been pretty busy during the last week, as well as keeping the kids occupied I had to endure the constant talk and excitement of Halloween (it’s a big thing with my kids!). Yesterday we decided to drape the front with spooky decos.
I know compared to some houses out there, mine doesn’t exactly meet the scary criteria. But hey I can only try. I did have ideas of tombstones and smoky effects along with scary music playing on the background, but that would have meant spending hundreds of pounds, which obviously isn’t that practical considering that it’s only for a night. And I’m not about to become the next Halloween commercial victim.
Until only about 5 years ago, Halloween in the UK has never been a big deal compared to Americans who really go all the way with costumes and decorations.
Despite the recent situation of our economy, you would have thought that us Brits would not be as eager to get in to the spirit of Halloween, but surprisingly sales of Halloween related products are expected to top £195m this year. I can only imagine in the years to come that this figure will increase and it won’t be long until we become as passionate as the Americans on making our Halloween as spooky as ever!
Dressing up and looking scary has always proven a hit with my little monsters! Happy Halloween everyone!!!
