Amidst the ups and downs of the pandemic, I stumbled upon a delightful silver lining – my blossoming love affair with plants. You see, back in the UK, succulents and cacti never quite piqued my interest. Maybe it was the dreary weather or the lack of outdoor space, but they just didn’t seem to fit into my life. However, since making the move to Spain, I’ve been absolutely enchanted by succulents and cacti.

Why I love succulents and cacti
Anyway, the great thing about succulents and cacti is that they are very easy to care for as long as they can get at least 8 hours of sunlight. Another reason why I love them! They grow well in Mediterranean climates and give your home that ‘holiday exotic feeling’ all year round.
Over the past year, I’ve gathered around 50 succulents and cacti – and counting! They mainly chill out on the terrace, soaking up the sun and breeze. How to pick a pot for succulents
