Denia is about an hour and a half south of Valencia situated in the province of Alicante. It’s a historic, cosmopolitan and cultural city that has remained free of mass tourism and has grown organically preserving all its authenticity.
I would say that Altea is probably one of my favourite towns in Alicante. Only an hour and a half drive south of Valencia it’s a town with a lot of character and relaxed surroundings, quite surprising as it’s only a 15-minute drive away from the vibrant atmosphere of Benidorm. After visiting Altea more than […]
It’s been just over two years since my 8-year-old have visited the UK. With school to adjust to, I have prevented him from taking any unnecessary time off and of course, time flies, and before I knew it it’s been a few years! I feel a little guilty that it has taken this long for […]
Summer holidays is not complete until we take a trip to the water park and we feel very fortunate that there are so many to choose from around the Valencian Community. I wanted to share my top three picks of the nearest water parks to visit around Valencia, just over an hour away from our […]
A photo I took on the Pal-Arinsal ski slopes from our family road trip to Andorra. The view was amazing! The kids had a great time tobogganing while I sat and watched (and drank wine!) :P
This post is long overdue. I have been meaning to write up about our trip to Andorra just after Christmas. This trip didn’t take much planning and it was something that we and our friends have decided at the last minute. The idea came up when I mentioned to my friend about how my youngest […]
It’s true, I have not updated for over a month. April became a big blur as soon as I took my trip to the UK. With a lot of things going on, including our home moving plans, work and kids the month quickly passed. As if by magic it’s already June and I’ve felt particularly […]
The more I visit Valencia the more I fall in love with the place, so it was no brainer when my husband and I decided to take another weekend break just 30 minutes drive from our home. I tend to visit the city often, but not to sightsee, I guess I forget to appreciate it […]
Excited! The first word that comes into my mind! I have finally organised my trip back to the UK for next month! Flights and hotels are booked the only thing left to do now is to look forward to seeing my much-missed family and friends! This trip will also be a little break for me, […]
So, it’s that time of year again, as the days get longer and the weather gets warmer there is no mistaking that Spring and the Fallas festival is just around the corner. If I was to describe the Fallas in Valencia to anyone who has not experienced it before I would say that it’s probably […]
It’s only an hour ago since I got back from Barcelona with the boys, my husband headed off to his business trip this morning, leaving me and the boys to get on with it for a couple of weeks. It’s nothing new of course, but once or twice a year I find myself without my […]
This 30 second timelapse video of Valencia hows you a little glimpse of this beautiful city, a place with a combination of traditions and modern architecture, from the rice fields of Albufera, beaches, Arts & Sciences, port and of course the famous Fallas festival. Post by Comunitat Valenciana.
Monday. What a dreaded word! As I sit here writing this the boys have been shuttled off to school, a nice break for a change giving me this morning to tell you more about my exciting partnership with one of Spains leading property search website. Now that the new school year is already in full […]
Yesterday was a day full of surprises, the husband and I planned a little day out for the boys to the Oceanografic Valencia. This year, we haven’t really ventured to any theme parks or attractions and have been enjoying a slow paced and fun filled summer without having to spend a fortune. But of course we […]
We are not short of sunshine here in Valencia, so even though my husband and I spend our time working during the week, we are certain that on weekends we can rely on the continuous sunshine to make family time with the kids. It really depends what you’re into, we’re a kind of family who […]
Anyone who has been to Spain would know how vast this beautiful country is, there are still a lot of hidden places to discover. Since we moved to Valencia I’ve been to amazing places with hidden caves, waterfalls, climbing areas and parts that are not widely available for tourists, places that only the Valencian people know and enjoy. A […]
How’s the weekend going? I hope it’s going better than mine. This week has been particularly crappy due to a virus that one of us caught at the beginning of last week. It seemed to have done its rounds, but still leaving all pretty run down. So instead of the normal busy weekend, we decided […]
One thing I would say about our new life in Valencia is that weekends are unpredictable. Yesterday we went to our normal Spanish Sunday breakfast with friends along with my mother & partner (who have been staying with us for the festive holidays). A normal Sunday would usually start at 10 am at our local […]
Frequent travelling requires organisation and planning, which I have learnt over the past two years. My 4-7 day journeys usually do not require a lot of things, so travelling light and having reliable travel accessories makes the journey a lot easier. This past year I have travelled back to the UK at least 7 times, […]
It’s been quite a week of traveling, last Wednesday I flew back to the UK to attend to some personal matters. Now that Valencia Airport have stopped flights from some major airports in UK, I had to resort to long haul traveling to catch my flight from Alicante to East Midlands. On Wednesday I am […]
And just a little reminder at this time of the week, enjoy your weekend, stay happy!
